CLIMBSBuild Capacity, Increase Collaboration,
Improve ELL Education
WIDA’s CLIMBS (Content and Language Integration as a Means of Bridging Success) Program, is professional development curriculum designed to introduce participants to the use of research-based approaches and WIDA resources to support ELL students in their classrooms.
The CLIMBS Program helps school staff better meet the needs of ELLs by:
- providing a space in which educators can collaborate on classroom instruction and assessment for ELLs;
- helping educators integrate content and language standards; and
- acquainting educators with research-based practices that support the learning of ELLs.
Pairs of Educators who become CLIMBS Licensed Facilitators deliver the CLIMBS Program in districts or local education contexts. Multi-disciplinary teams of K-12 educators who attend the semester-long program explore and apply research-based teaching approaches and WIDA resources to support their ELL students. Learn more
